About the role
Project Mechanical Engineer required for a Major Transmission project based in the UK. Responsibilities: Provide mechanical engineering support across multiple projects defining the scope of engineering design, as well as validate and verify the engineering design and construction and installation for assigned projects. Ability to or experience of leading on Mechanical services and some multi-disciplinary projects Develop scope of works and detailed specifications, supporting site teams to ensure the quality of installations. Evaluate tenders and scope, procure and manage specialist services. Engagement with Contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and improved workmanship Support the project design teams delivering a portfolio of building projects, including office spaces, data centres design requirements and critical national infrastructure. Support building services initiatives (e.g. standardisation, modular building design development) Lead internal and external multi-disciplinary design team where required. Requirements Proven relevant project design experience in mechanical building services. The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced mechanical Building Services Project Engineer with experience in a utility or operational environment. Sound technical knowledge of industry standards and specifications and an in depth understanding of CDM Regulations. Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner, you'll facilitate decision making by senior management. Experience in designing and commissioning of a diverse range of mechanical building systems is key. Ability to use IES for thermal, energy and compliance modelling. Demonstrable experience of delivering using digital platforms (such as BIM, Revit and other design packages) across the life of the project will be an advantage. Ability to liaise and co-ordinate project activities with project stakeholders (including internal stakeholder, design consultants, contractors, etc. Experience aligning projects deliverables with assurance processes, specifications, codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation. Preferably hold or be working towards an appropriate Chartered Engineer status. Membership (CEng / IEng) of CIBSE, or relevant and equivalent professional body is advantageous.
