About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer (IC) to join a high-performing MEP engineering team on a long-term contract, working across a range of exciting projects.

This position would suit a committed and ambitious engineer with strong technical capability, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to contribute effectively within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.

The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work as part of a team responsible for the design and delivery of allocated MEP projects, working closely with the Project Lead MEP Engineer and wider engineering disciplines.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality mechanical designs, ensuring work is delivered to the required standards, timescales and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Produce mechanical and MEP designs in accordance with project requirements and instructions from the Lead Engineer/CRE.
Ensure designs are completed to the required technical standards and agreed timescales.
Plan and manage allocated design activities to meet project deadlines.
Identify changes to project requirements and communicate these to the relevant Lead Engineer/CRE.
Work collaboratively with engineers across other disciplines to promote effective multidisciplinary working and a strong “One Team” approach.
Ensure designs are coordinated effectively with other MEP and engineering disciplines.
Support the delivery of projects within a dynamic and high-performance engineering environment.
Maintain strong communication and professional relationships with colleagues and project stakeholders.
Key Skills & Experience
Experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within MEP/building services.
Knowledge of mechanical services design within the built environment and/or transport infrastructure.
Good knowledge of HVAC, Public Health, Building Physics and BIM.
Understanding of multidisciplinary issues associated with M&E and building services.
Knowledge of construction principles, standards and relevant design requirements.
Good understanding of CSM/CDM regulations and requirements; internal training will be provided.
Experience using Hevacomp and/or thermal modelling/design software.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Self-motivated, proactive and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Strong team player with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple engineering disciplines.
Flexible approach to working hours to meet project requirements.
Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and other offices when required.
