Assembly Operator

£15.25 per hour | 2 Shift Rotation | Temp to Perm Opportunity

Jackson Hogg are currently recruiting for an Assembly Operator to join a growing manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced assembly operative with strong hand tool experience to secure a long-term position with excellent benefits and a clear route to permanent employment.

Following an initial induction on dayshift, successful candidates will move straight onto a 2-shift rotation, earning £15.25 per hour.

The Role

Working within a busy production environment, you will be responsible for assembling components to a high standard while following engineering drawings, standard operating procedures and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assembly of manufactured products and components
• Using hand and power tools including:
  • Drills
  • Avdel guns
  • Screwdrivers
  • Spanners
  • Allen keys
• Operating insert machines where required
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet specification
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment
• Working to production schedules and targets

Requirements

• Previous assembly or manufacturing experience
• Confident using a range of hand tools and assembly equipment
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience following SOPs and quality standards
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Hours of Work

Initial Induction

Dayshift

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am - 12:30pm

Two Shift Rotation (20% Shift Premium)

Week 1 - Early Shift

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:30pm
• Friday: 6:00am - 12:30pm

Week 2 - Back Shift

• Monday to Thursday: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
• Friday: 12:30pm - 7:00pm

Average 38.5 hours per week.

Temporary Workers

• £15.25 per hour
• Overtime paid at:
  • Time and a Half Monday to Saturday
  • Double Time on Sundays
