White Label Recruitment is exclusively recruiting 2 Mechanical Design Engineers for an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Leeds. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke cranes, lifting systems and material handling equipment for demanding industrial applications. You’ll be joining an established engineering team working on large-scale, technically challenging equipment within a medium-to-heavy engineering environment. The Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for producing design layouts and manufacturing drawings for bespoke cranes and material handling applications. You’ll work closely with engineering, production, procurement, installation and commissioning teams to deliver projects in line with customer requirements, cost, quality and programme targets. Key responsibilities include: * Producing design layouts and manufacturing drawings for cranes and material handling equipment * Producing engineering calculations in line with recognised standards * Producing purchase specifications and liaising with suppliers * Reviewing and checking in-house and outsourced detail drawings * Working within the company's design review process * Delivering projects against customer, cost, quality and programme requirements * Working closely with production, procurement, installation and commissioning teams * Attending customer sites when required The Person We’re looking for Mechanical Design Engineers with experience within medium-to-heavy engineering. Ideally, you’ll have: * Experience designing medium-to-heavy engineered products or equipment * Strong Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD skills * Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings and design layouts * An understanding of engineering calculations * Experience working with production/manufacturing teams and suppliers * Good written and verbal communication skills * Minimum BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Experience within cranes, lifting equipment, material handling, conveyors, heavy machinery, special-purpose machinery or fabricated equipment would be particularly relevant. Salary & Benefits * £40,000 – £50,000 * 37-hour working week * Flexible working hours over a 4-week period * Opportunity for 5 additional flexi-leave days per calendar year * 25 days annual leave + bank holidays * 6-month probationary period * Sickness benefit following completion of probation – 4 weeks basic, increasing by 1 week for each year of service to a maximum of 11 weeks * Pension – 3% employer / 5% employee * Death in service – 2x gross basic salary * Cycle to Work scheme There are 2 positions available, with both vacancies exclusive to White Label Recruitment.
