About the role
Social Media Manager
London
Permanent | Full Time (Hybrid)
At QBE, our purpose is to enable a more resilient future.
We are an international insurer and reinsurer with a local presence in 27 countries. As our business continues to evolve, so does the way we connect with our customers, partners, employees and communities.
The opportunity
We're looking for a strategic, ambitious and commercially-minded Social Media Manager to transform and elevate QBE's social media presence across our International business.
Joining our Digital Marketing team and wider Marketing & Communications function, you'll take ownership of our organic social media strategy, setting the vision, standards and direction for how QBE shows up across channels. While LinkedIn will be your primary focus, you'll have the opportunity to shape our future social media landscape and identify new opportunities for growth across emerging platforms.
This is a rare opportunity to build, influence and create lasting impact on a global brand. If you're someone who sees beyond likes and impressions and is excited by strategy, governance, storytelling, innovation and transformation, we'd love to hear from you.
Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Digital Marketing, you'll own QBE's organic social media channels end-to-end, defining strategy, governance, content direction and performance measurement across multiple regions and markets.
Working closely with marketing, communications, business leaders and external partners, you'll establish a more consistent, audience-led and impactful approach to social media which strengthens QBE's brand, reputation and commercial objectives.
Main responsibilities:
Develop and own QBE's organic social media strategy, with LinkedIn as the primary channel, creating a clear vision for future growth and engagement.
Shape how QBE appears across social media, defining content strategy, tone of voice, storytelling principles and best practice.
Partner with stakeholders across the business to translate strategic priorities into compelling, audience-focused social content and campaigns.
Lead the planning, governance and coordination of activity across regions, bringing greater consistency and alignment across markets.
Own and manage the International social media calendar, ensuring content is strategically prioritised and opportunities are maximised.
Act as the centre of excellence for social media, providing guidance, challenge and expertise to stakeholders at all levels.
Establish and maintain governance frameworks, ensuring all activity aligns with regulatory requirements, brand standards and reputational considerations.
Use data, analytics and audience insights to continuously optimise performance and inform future strategy.
Explore emerging social platforms, technologies and trends, identifying opportunities to strengthen QBE's digital presence.
Champion the use of AI and innovative digital tools to improve content creation, planning, operational efficiency and audience engagement.
About you
You're a strategic thinker as much as a social media expert. You're excited by the challenge of transforming and evolving a social media presence, bringing structure where needed while inspiring others with a clear vision for what's possible.
You'll be comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, navigating complexity and taking ownership of a highly visible channel. Most importantly, you'll care deeply about quality, consistency and delivering work that reflects the strength of our brand.
Skills you'll need:
Strong experience developing and delivering social media strategies, particularly for B2B audiences.
Experience within financial services, insurance, banking or another regulated industry.
A proven track record of building, transforming or evolving social media channels and programmes.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise, influence and challenge senior leaders.
Deep understanding of LinkedIn and the role social media plays in driving brand reputation, engagement and business outcomes.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn insights into actionable recommendations.
Exceptional communication and storytelling capabilities, with an eye for high-quality content and audience engagement.
Outstanding organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI, and how they can enhance social media strategy and execution.
High personal standards and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering consistently excellent work.
A proactive, self-starting mindset and the confidence to work autonomously while building strong partnerships across the business.
