Electrical Design Engineer

An excellent temporary opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer in Woking through Radiant Jobs Ltd. The role sits within Engineering & Construction and is aligned to Construction & Building Services. This role is suited to a capable professional who can produce coordinated electrical designs that meet project and regulatory requirements. Working within Construction & Building Services, you will take ownership of load calculations, schematics, specifications, CAD/BIM coordination, design reviews, compliance and technical support. We are looking for someone who combines strong technical or professional capability with sound judgement, clear communication and a consistently high standard of service. You will be expected to become effective quickly, adapt to the client environment and deliver confidently from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day ownership of load calculations, schematics, specifications, CAD/BIM coordination, design reviews, compliance and technical support.
• Apply sound professional judgement to produce coordinated electrical designs that meet project and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver work accurately, efficiently and in line with agreed deadlines and service standards.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues, clients, customers or stakeholders and provide timely updates.
• Maintain complete, accurate and appropriately confidential records and documentation.
• Identify risks, issues or exceptions early and take appropriate action or escalate where necessary.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team and contribute positively to service quality and operational performance.
• Follow all relevant legislation, professional standards, organisational policies and health & safety requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Demonstrable experience working as a Electrical Design Engineer or in a closely related role.
• Practical experience relevant to Construction & Building Services.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a professional and service-focused approach.
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and contribute effectively as part of a team.
• Confidence using the systems, technology and documentation required for the role.
• Knowledge of applicable health & safety requirements.

Qualifications Required

• Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering with CAD/design software proficiency.

• Previous experience in a comparable Construction & Building Services environment.
• Additional relevant professional training, certification or membership.
