• Role: Senior Social Worker (Children's Services)

• Pay Rate: £38.00 per hour (Umbrella)

• Caseload: Manageable capped caseloads of ~20 children per Social Worker

• Working Pattern: Hybrid Working (Office days fixed Tuesdays & Wednesdays; remaining days negotiable with Team Manager)

• Hours: Monday - Thursday (8:30am - 5:00pm), Friday (8:30am - 4:30pm)

Are you an experienced Senior Social Worker with strong Court and Child Protection expertise looking for a rewarding, well-supported locum role in Leicester?

We are currently recruiting a skilled Senior Social Worker to join the Children in Need (CIN) Team based at Halford House, Leicester. Offering a top market pay rate of £38.00 per hour, this role stands out for its realistic, manageable workload-keeping caseloads capped at approximately 20 children per Social Worker-giving you the time to focus on quality statutory interventions.

• Complex Case Management: Manage a statutory caseload (~20) focusing on high-pressure Child Protection (CP) and Children in Need (CIN) cases across Leicester City.

• Court Work & PLO: Lead on care proceedings, pre-proceedings (PLO), and produce high-quality, analytical court reports for high-acuity cases.

• Safeguarding & Assessments: Complete Section 47 enquiries, child and family assessments, and robust risk management plans.

• Multi-Agency Working: Partner with local schools, health teams, Leicestershire Police, and early intervention services.

• Professional Registration: Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).

• Essential Experience: Proven post-qualifying experience in statutory Child Protection and Court proceedings.

• Key Skills: In-depth working knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, court frameworks, and robust analytical assessment skills.

• Top Locum Rate: £38.00 per hour.

• Manageable Caseloads: Capped around ~20 per Social Worker.

• Structured Hybrid Rota: In-office team presence on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, with flexible remote working options for remaining days (subject to manager agreement).
