Assistant Accountant:

A well-established, growing business based in Leicester (LE19)) is looking to hire a Assistant Accountant on a permanent, basis.
This is a broad, all-round finance role to support the day-to-day running of the accounts function, with scope for the right person to pick up / grow into elements of month-end and management accounts over time.
The role (typical duties)

• Purchase Ledger / Sales Ledger processing and query management
• Bank, supplier and customer reconciliations
• Posting and allocating payments/receipts
• Raising invoices / credit notes (where required)
• Collating payroll data from timesheets (note payroll experience not required)
• Supporting with month-end (journals, accruals/prepayments, basic reporting) depending on experience
• General finance admin support to the wider team

What they’re looking for

• Strong, hands-on experience in a busy and broad accounts role
• Can work independently 
• Confident with reconciliations and high-volume processing
• Construction / contracting sector exposure is highly desirable
• COINS experience is a strong advantage (or similar construction finance systems)
• Strong CIS knowledge also distinctly advantageous
• AAT Qualified a plus. Note there’s little room for upwards progression in this role but plenty of scope for breadth

• Salary: up to £35,000 (depending on experience)
• Type: Permanent
• Location: Leicester (on-site, no hybrid)
• Hours: full-time (working hours 8am to 4.30pm, can be flexible on start time)
• Benefits: 28 days holiday inclusive of bank hols, Pension
