This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

As a key member of the Operations and Plans team within HQ AITC, the Military Establishment Advisor is responsible for managing establishment change through the effective use of MOD information management systems. This is a predominantly process-driven position that plays an important role in ensuring organisational structures remain aligned to operational requirements.

The successful candidate will provide advice and guidance to units across AITC on change management, workforce recruitment matters and liability composition. They will also support organisational planning and restructuring activity within HQ, contributing to wider projects and strategic initiatives as required.

Working as part of a small, supportive team, the post offers a good degree of autonomy, requiring the ability to manage priorities effectively while building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the Command’s liability and AITC Establishment Tables, ensuring resourcing data remains accurate and up to date, annual reviews are completed, liability amendments are processed through the System Liability Information Management (SLIM) system within agreed timescales, and changes arising from published Implementation Orders (IOs) are implemented within three months of publication.
  • Act as AITC’s Subject Matter Expert and sole user of the System Liability Information Management (SLIM) system, providing specialist advice, resolving user queries, liaising with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met, and coordinating the reporting and resolution of system issues, enhancements and change requests within agreed timelines.
  • Provide expert advice to AITC Operational Groups on complex liability requirements, workforce composition, rank structures and employment categories, ensuring proposed changes meet business needs and comply with Army policy, while maintaining awareness of current and future initiatives, reorganisations and resubordinations affecting the Command.

Essential skills required:

  • Confident with Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of military IT systems including SLIM.
  • Previous experience working on workforce matters.

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
