Job summary
Upavon and Netheravon Support Unit provides support to a diverse range of military units, organisations and personnel, including Regular and Reserve Service personnel, Civil Servants and contractors. Operating within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the Support Unit delivers essential services that enable personnel and organisations across the Garrison to remain focused on operational and strategic priorities while maintaining compliance with Army and MOD policy.
Working collaboratively with a wide range of military and civilian stakeholders, the Support Unit provides a professional and responsive service focused on governance, assurance, personnel support and effective business delivery. Through strong partnerships and a commitment to continuous improvement, the Unit contributes to the successful operation of the Garrison and the delivery of Defence outputs.

Job description
The Regimental Administration Officer (RAO) is responsible to the Commanding Officer for the management and control of all military HR functions within the Station Admin Office of the Upavon and Netheravon Support Unit. The role of RAO is vital, ensuring the continuity, support to and provision of services within an Army Station. Working closely with the wider Headquarters team and will be responsible for the auditing of the Public and Non-Public accounts.
This post provides information and support services to all the diverse Units and Formations in the Upavon and Netheravon Garrison.
The role will be based within the Regimental Admin Office in Upavon with the responsibility for the delivery of key outputs within the RAOs department, including management and control of all military HR functions and auditing.
Main Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all military HR functions within the Station Administration Office, ensuring personnel administration is delivered efficiently, accurately and in accordance with Army policies and regulations.
- Provide governance, audit and assurance oversight for both Public and Non-Public accounts, maintaining compliance, accountability and financial controls across the unit.
- Support the Commanding Officer and Headquarters team by delivering administrative advice, personnel management support and key business outputs that contribute to the effective running of the Army Station.
- Coordinate and deliver administrative services to a diverse range of units and formations across Upavon and Netheravon Garrison, ensuring high standards of customer service and responsive support to military personnel.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
