Home Care Assistant / Domiciliary Care Worker

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate, reliable Home Care Assistants to support individuals in their own homes across the local community. You will play a vital role in enabling clients to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life while receiving person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, and mobility support.

• Medication Support: Administer or prompt prescribed medication in accordance with individual care plans and MAR chart protocols.

• Meal Preparation: Prepare light meals, drinks, and snacks, ensuring nutrition and hydration needs are met.

• Companionship & Support: Provide emotional support, engagement, and assistance with social interaction to reduce isolation.

• Domestic Assistance: Carry out light housekeeping duties, including laundry, tidying, and essential grocery shopping.

• Documentation: Accurately update care logs and digital records after each visit, escalating any health, safety, or safeguarding concerns to the Registered Care Manager.

Requirements

• Right to Work: Valid proof of Right to Work in the UK.

• Driving License: Full UK Driving License with access to a reliable, insured vehicle for work calls.

• Qualifications: Care Certificate or NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care is desirable (full training provided for entry-level applicants).

• Checks: Must pass an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and provide two satisfactory references.

• Attributes: Strong communication skills, empathy, patience, and punctuality.
