HGV Waste & Recycling Driver – Gatwick Airport

Location: Gatwick Airport
Pay: £17.30 per hour
Overtime: £25.95 per hour
Shift: 06:00-18:00 – 4 days on / 4 days off
DAY SHIFTS ONLY

We are recruiting experienced HGV Drivers to join a busy Waste & Recycling operation based at Gatwick Airport, working for a major national company.

If you are looking for a driving role offering regular day shifts, a 4-on/4-off rota and excellent overtime rates, this is a great opportunity to secure ongoing work in a varied HGV driving position.

The Role

This isn’t a standard multi-drop driving job. You will work across a busy airport operation, driving a variety of vehicles and supporting waste and recycling collections.

Your duties will include:

• Driving a range of vehicles including 18T vehicles, Skip Lorries, RoRo vehicles, RCV/Dust Carts and 3.5T Luton vehicles

• Collection and movement of waste and recycling materials

• Collection of hazardous waste from approved third-party locations

• Collection, emptying and replenishment of bins

• Securing loads safely and ensuring vehicle weight limits are followed

• Completing daily vehicle checks and driver run sheets

• Completing all required collection and delivery paperwork

• Maintaining good communication with the Shift Manager and operational team

• Carrying out dynamic risk assessments at collection and delivery locations

• Keeping Goods In and Waste Away areas clean and safe

• Emptying balers when required

• Following company safety, reporting and operating procedures

We need drivers who are:

• Experienced and confident operating HGV/LGV vehicles

• Must have valid Digicard, LGV C Licence, Driver CPC

• Happy working in a hands-on and physically active driving role

• Safety conscious and reliable

• Comfortable working as part of a team

• Able to complete vehicle checks and paperwork accurately

• Professional when dealing with customers and other airport users

• Flexible enough to operate different vehicle types as required
