UK - Site-Based Customer Premises | Office Based in Willand | £33,000-£39,000 per annum | 40 Hours per Week | Monday-Friday | Permanent
IntroductionAcorn by Synergie is recruiting for a hands-on Mechanical Fitter / Site Engineer to join a field service team based in Willand.
You'll work predominantly off-site at customer locations, assembling, installing, maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
Travel time is paid, with a company van and fuel card provided. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, with the opportunity to work across different customer sites rather than being workshop-based.
What We Offer- £33,000-£39,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

- Build and install mechanical systems, structures and industrial equipment on customer sites, working to specifications and deadlines.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance to keep machinery running efficiently and minimise downtime.
- Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs on industrial equipment, including bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, conveyors and pumps.
- Read and work from engineering drawings to construct, install and modify mechanical systems and structures.
- Work safely on customer sites, following permits and RAMS and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Complete job sheets and service reports and highlight any issues or recommendations to the client.
- Proven experience in assembly, installation and maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Strong mechanical fitting skills, including fitting, alignment, fault diagnosis and use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings - essential for installing systems correctly.
- Self-motivated and able to problem-solve independently on site.
- Full UK driving licence - essential due to the travel requirements. No points preferred for insurance purposes.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience constructing mechanical systems and structures from scratch.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Previous field service or Site Engineer experience.
- Welding skills or a fabrication background.
