The role combines day-to-day compliance management with the opportunity to lead projects and initiatives designed to strengthen systems, processes and overall business resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures and compliance frameworks in line with legislative and regulatory requirements.

  • Work with senior stakeholders to implement compliance initiatives and promote best practice.

  • Lead internal compliance audits, including areas such as Right to Work, agency labour, modern slavery, GDPR and ethical trading standards.

  • Coordinate external audits and ensure successful outcomes and ongoing compliance.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on compliance matters, including GDPR, Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), non-conformances and related training.

  • Lead activities relating to the Data Protection Act 2018, Data (Use and Access) legislation and ICO guidance.

  • Produce, analyse and report on compliance data, including diversity and workforce metrics.

  • Support the administration of ISO standards and requirements.

  • Ensure business continuity plans remain current and actions arising from audits or reviews are completed.

  • Maintain robust document control processes, ensuring policies, procedures and forms are version-controlled and regularly reviewed.

  • Manage agency contracts and supplier compliance records.

  • Investigate and resolve agency worker compliance issues, including AWR compliance and audit findings.

  • Support Company Secretarial activities, including Companies House filings and Companies Act compliance.

  • Develop effective relationships with regulatory bodies, auditors, customers and external stakeholders.

  • Provide compliance information to support insurance renewals, claims management and market reviews.

  • Prepare compliance documentation, policies and business information to support customer tenders and business development opportunities.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced compliance professional who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a Compliance Manager, Compliance Officer, Governance, Risk or similar position.

  • Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, governance, data protection legislation and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience managing and leading both internal and external audits.

  • Good understanding of GDPR and data protection principles.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

  • The ability to analyse complex information and provide clear, practical recommendations.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels of an organisation.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience within logistics, supply chain, warehousing or an operational environment would be advantageous.

  • Leeds-based Head Office

  • Free parking

  • Supportive and collaborative working environment

  • Career development and progression opportunities

  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact on compliance, governance and business performance

Why Join?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation where compliance is viewed as an important part of business success rather than simply a tick-box exercise.

You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, influence business decisions and make a real difference by helping to build robust, compliant and effective ways of working.
