Gloucester, UK Carrington West Commercial Manager Location: Gloucester / Leighton Buzzard Salary: £80,000 - £85,000 + Company Car Bonus: Discretionary Working: Hybrid available after probation Type: Permanent The Opportunity Carrington West are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading specialist highways and infrastructure business delivering high-quality maintenance and surface treatment solutions across the UK. This is a key senior position within the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the commercial function while working closely with operational teams, estimating and senior leadership. The successful candidate will play a major role in driving commercial performance, strengthening governance, managing risk and supporting the successful delivery of a varied project portfolio. Key Responsibilities ·Lead the commercial function across a portfolio of highways and infrastructure projects. ·Manage contracts, cost control and commercial risk. ·Provide commercial governance and support to operational delivery teams. ·Lead procurement and supply chain activity. ·Line manage a Bid Manager and support tendering and bidding activity. ·Work closely with the estimating function on tendering and pricing. ·Support pipeline development and overall business performance. ·Provide strategic commercial advice to senior leadership. ·Identify and manage commercial opportunities and risks throughout project delivery. About You We are keen to speak with candidates from a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager background. You should have: ·Experience within highways, infrastructure or construction. ·Strong knowledge of contract management, cost control and commercial risk. ·Experience across procurement and supply chain strategy. ·A proven track record supporting successful tenders and bids. ·Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. ·The ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level. ·A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline. Package & Benefits ·£71,000 - £85,000 salary ·Company car ·Discretionary bonus ·Hybrid working available following probation ·Senior leadership opportunity ·Regular interaction with senior operational and commercial stakeholders ·Approximately 2-3 trips per month to offices/clients ·Limited site visits, approximately 3-4 per year The role is ideally based in Gloucester, although candidates within commutable distance of Leighton Buzzard may also be considered, with travel to the Gloucester office required.
