Senior ITS Engineer

Our client, a specialist consultancy in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Senior ITS Engineer to join their team on a contract basis, based in either Manchester or Birmingham. This role involves hands-on design work, directly supporting National Highways as well as assisting other consultancies and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading and implementing Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) design projects
• Collaborating with National Highways and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality ITS solutions
• Providing technical expertise and innovative design solutions for a variety of highways projects
• Ensuring projects meet industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Mentoring and supporting junior engineers within the team
• Conducting site assessments and collecting necessary data
• Preparing and reviewing technical documentation and reports
• Maintaining effective communication with clients and project teams

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in ITS engineering, particularly within the highways sector
• In-depth knowledge of ITS design principles and relevant technologies
• Demonstrated ability to oversee and execute complex design projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with relevant software and tools used in ITS design
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in a related field
