Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Summary
We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join a major EPC company on a key project in North Wales. This role would suit someone who is highly skilled in electrical testing and commissioning, with a strong understanding of industry standards and safety compliance. If you have a track record in electrical commissioning and are keen to work with a leading engineering name, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.
Location and Working Pattern
North Wales – site-based role, full time.
Client Overview
Our client is a major EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) company delivering large-scale energy and infrastructure projects across the UK and beyond. They are recognised for their technical expertise and strong commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities

Deliver and oversee electrical commissioning activities on assigned projects.
Prepare and execute commissioning plans and procedures in line with project requirements.
Conduct functional and performance testing of electrical systems and equipment.
Verify and interpret technical documentation including schematics and single-line diagrams.
Identify, report and resolve electrical system faults during commissioning.
Produce accurate commissioning reports and maintain all associated documentation.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulatory obligations.
Liaise with project teams to support handover and project milestones.

 
Must-have Requirements

Recognised electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND, degree or equivalent).
Proven experience in electrical installation, testing and commissioning.
Knowledge of UK regulations and standards (e.g. BS7671, IEC).
Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documents accurately.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent reporting and communication abilities.

 
Nice-to-have Skills

Previous experience within the power, energy or large infrastructure sectors.
Familiarity with commissioning documentation and quality systems.
Knowledge of control and instrumentation interface requirements.
HV authorisation or COMPEX certification advantageous.
