Mechanical Project Manager

Location: UK-wide (travel required)
Salary: Up to £45,000 starting salary (dependent on experience)
Working Hours: 7:30–16:30, Monday–Friday
Travel: Working with customers nationwide. Will need to attend site.

We are seeking a proactive and organised Mechanical Project Manager to lead and manage mechanical projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for coordinating project delivery, supporting customers, liaising with stakeholders across the UK, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to specification.

This is a customer-facing role requiring strong communication, confident planning, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while travelling to sites and meeting clients nationwide.

THE ROLE:

• Manage mechanical projects end-to-end, from planning and scheduling through to delivery and handover.
• Liaise with customers (face-to-face and remotely), building strong working relationships across the UK.
• Plan and coordinate site activities, ensuring resources, materials, and labour are aligned to project schedules.
• Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed to the required standards and technical requirements.
• Monitor project progress against timelines, risks, and budgets; take corrective action where needed.
• Maintain clear project documentation, including schedules, meeting notes, risk registers, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety procedures on all project sites.
• Support with technical review and problem solving, particularly where mechanical systems require troubleshooting or rework planning.
• Attend site meetings and produce or support customer/project updates.
• Proven experience in project management within a mechanical engineering environment (or closely related field).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and ability to interpret technical requirements and drawings.
• Demonstrable ability to plan, organise, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Confident communication skills and experience working directly with customers and stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to travel across the UK regularly.
• Valid right to work in the UK.

THE CANDIDATE:

• Experience with HVAC, plant, industrial systems, mechanical installation, or maintenance projects.
• Understanding of health & safety requirements and ability to ensure safe delivery on site.
• Experience working with subcontractors and coordinating installations/commissioning.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., mechanical engineering, project management, or equivalent experience).
