Job Title
Mechanical & Piping Commissioning Engineer
Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical & Piping Commissioning Engineer to join a major EPC company on a project based in North Wales. This role is ideal for a commissioning professional with strong knowledge of mechanical systems and piping who can deliver safe, compliant, and efficient start-up processes.
Location and Working Pattern
North Wales – site-based.
Client Overview
Our client is a leading EPC contractor recognised for delivering large-scale engineering projects to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities

Develop and review commissioning plans and documentation for mechanical and piping systems.
Coordinate commissioning activities with engineering, construction, and quality teams.
Prepare and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures in line with project standards.
Monitor system readiness and oversee functional testing before handover.
Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning and initial operations.
Complete verification reports and maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance.
Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental procedures during site activities.

 
Must-have Requirements

Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Previous experience in mechanical and piping commissioning on heavy industrial or EPC projects.
Knowledge of relevant standards and codes (e.g., ASME, API) and ability to interpret P&IDs and isometric drawings.
Strong organisational skills to manage complex commissioning schedules.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

 
Nice-to-have Skills

Familiarity with digital commissioning tools.
Experience on major EPC or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Understanding of welding and pressure testing practices.
