Newcastle Upon Tyne - Offshore
Salary up to £55k basic + offshore allowances


This role is the catalyst in bringing our groundbreaking systems to life. Our Control engineers are technical gurus, progressive thinkers, and expert troubleshooters all rolled into one.

This is a diverse role in which you work on developing bespoke machinery to meet our customers’ needs, operating in a fast-paced environment as part of a multi-disciplined team of engineers.

You need to be willing to get stuck in, combining your technical nous, with strong communication and a pinch of lateral thinking to deliver On Spec, to Budget and In Time.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:
  • Specifies and designs control system circuits and documentation.
  • Develops and simulates PLC, HMI/SCADA systems and software.
  • Configures and commissions inverter drives.
  • Checks and approves electrical schematics.
  • Checks calculations and architecture.
  • Conducts functional safety studies.
  • Reviews designs against DNV and/or other standards.
  • Selects and procures control system components.
  • Contributes to sales proposals.
  • Liaises with suppliers for expediting purposes.
Person Specification:
  • Open minded with a keen to learn attitude.
  • Flexible and adaptable within a fast-paced environment.
  • A solid team player with a holistic view.
  • Experienced in designing and commissioning safety automation and control systems for marine and/or hazardous environments.
  • Understands PLC programming for safety and process applications.
Requirements:
  • A degree-level qualification, or equivalent.
  • On-site commissioning and fault-finding experience.
  • Siemens TIA Portal experience.
  • Experience with DNV certification (desirable - not essential).
  • Experience with SIL.
Other Info:
  • Successful applicants will be based at headquarters  in North East England, working on site as required.
  • Working abroad may be required at times.
  • We offer flexible working hours as part of this role.
