Senior Highways Engineer

Our client, a key player in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves working on complex highway designs, including junctions, roundabouts, bus lanes, and cycle paths.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing detailed designs for highways, including junctions, roundabouts, bus lanes, and cycle paths
• Utilising AutoCAD 2D for design and drafting tasks
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects
• Conducting site visits and assessments to inform design decisions
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Preparing technical reports and documentation
• Supervising and mentoring junior engineers
• Working three days a week in the office as part of a hybrid working arrangement

Job Requirements:

• Extensive experience in highways engineering and design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D
• Strong understanding of highway design principles and standards
• Experience with designing junctions, roundabouts, bus lanes, and cycle paths
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Understanding of IR35 regulations
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
