Project Manager (Multi-Utilities)

Our client, a leading provider within the utilities sector, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. This role will involve managing a portfolio of multi-utility connection projects across the South West, with a particular focus on 11kV electricity connections.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Multi-Utility Project Manager or an electrically biased Project Manager with a strong background in utility connection projects.

You'll be responsible for a portfolio valued at approximately £2 million, managing 20-30 live projects at various stages, including design, legal, and construction phases.

The business offers excellent opportunities for professional development, including exposure to water and gas connections and progression into higher-voltage projects ranging from 33kV to 132kV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multi-utility connection projects from inception through to completion.
  • Liaise closely with Senior Project Managers, Operations Managers, Design Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage site Supervisors, direct labour, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and safety requirements, including NRSWA.
  • Maintain commercial awareness, including responsibility for project P&L performance.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of NERS, WIRS and GIRS accreditation standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residential and commercial developers, ICPs, and key stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and produce regular progress reports.
  • Monitor programme delivery, budgets, health and safety, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Project Manager within the multi-utilities sector, ideally managing 11kV connection projects.
  • Strong understanding of electricity distribution networks and connection works.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations, NRSWA requirements, and safe digging practices.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate activities across several sites.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working within a hybrid working environment.
