About the role
Clerical Officer - Finance Team - Northern Ireland Assembly
Location: Stormont Buildings, East Belfast
Pay Rate: £15.14 per hour (weekly pay)
Make an impact in a busy Finance Office - Excellent Opportunity!
As a Clerical Officer in our Finance Team, you will keep the Finance Office running smoothly and help deliver high-quality services to internal and external stakeholders-including MLAs, Assembly staff, and third-party suppliers. You will work across key areas such as Payroll, Pensions, Claims, and Accounts Payable, depending on team needs.
What you will do
- Provide excellent customer service by phone, email, and face-to-face.
- Process, check, and input financial data: invoices, payroll information, expense claims, and payments.
- Carry out reconciliations and corrections on general ledger accounts.
- Investigate and resolve irregularities on computerised finance systems.
- File and record financial documentation accurately and promptly.
- Use Microsoft Office and internal finance software/databases confidently.
- Manage your workload to meet deadlines and maintain high standards.
What you will bring (Essential criteria)
You must meet one of the following routes by the closing date
- GCSE 'A' level grade A*-C in 2 separate subjects and 5 GCSEs grade A*-C including English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent/higher).
- AND at least 2 years' experience in a finance office (or admin role with finance duties) covering all:
- Processing/inputting financial information (invoices, payroll, expenses).
- Strong oral, written, and numerical communication with diverse audiences.
- Organising workload with strong attention to detail and accuracy to deadlines.
- Using financial software packages and Microsoft Office to process financial documents.
- At least 4 years' experience in a finance office (or admin role with finance duties) covering all the above areas (a-d), without the GCSE requirement.
