Job Title
Senior Quantity Surveyor
Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major energy project based in Aberdeen. This temporary role offers immediate start and runs until December 2026, providing the perfect opportunity for someone with civil subcontract management experience on large-scale projects. If you have strong NEC3 knowledge and are confident managing high-value packages, this could be an ideal fit.

Aberdeen – 14 Abercrombie Court, Prospect Road, Westhill, AB32 6FE

Monday to Friday, 42 hours per week
Hybrid working: 3 days office-based, 2 days from home

 
Responsibilities

Oversee the commercial and contractual aspects of major civil works packages
Manage large subcontracts, including groundworks packages valued at £22m and £6m, and steel/envelope packages worth £13m
Ensure compliance with NEC3 Option A contract conditions
Prepare and review subcontract documentation and cost reporting
Administer change control processes and assess compensation events
Support pre-construction activities and contribute to project planning input
Utilise CEAR software for subcontract administration and cost management
Maintain communication with project teams to track progress and resolve contractual issues

 
Must-have Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on large construction projects
Strong subcontract management experience involving high-value civil works packages
In-depth knowledge of NEC3 Option A forms of contract
Ability to handle commercial risk, manage variations, and prepare accurate reporting
Excellent communication and organisational skills

 
Nice-to-have Skills

Proficiency with CEAR software for subcontract administration
Experience working on energy or power infrastructure projects
