Contract - Data Engineer X2Location: Waterloo, London Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week in the office Contract Length: 6 Months Day Rate: £550 per day IR35 Status: Inside IR35About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the data and analytics team of one of the UK's leading omnichannel retailers on a six-month contract. You'll be responsible for building and enhancing customer data pipelines within Databricks, enabling advanced analytics and machine learning to support customer insight and churn prediction.A key focus of the role will be integrating web, app and CRM customer data to create a unified view of the customer and support data-driven decision making across the business.Key Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain customer data pipelines using Databricks.Develop and validate datasets to support churn prediction and other customer analytics use cases.Integrate customer data across web, app and CRM platforms to enable a single customer view.Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and optimise data processing.Ensure high levels of data quality, governance and reliability.Work closely with Data Science, Analytics and Technology teams to deliver robust data solutions.Support the ongoing development of the organisation's modern data platform
Skills & ExperienceEssential
Proven commercial experience as a Data Engineer.Strong hands-on experience with Databricks.Experience building and maintaining enterprise-scale data pipelines.Advanced SQL skills.Experience working with cloud-based data platforms.Experience integrating customer data from multiple sources.Strong understanding of data modelling and ETL/ELT best practices.Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience supporting data science and machine learning initiatives.Exposure to customer analytics, loyalty or marketing data.Experience with CRM, digital event and omnichannel datasets.Familiarity with CI/CD and modern data engineering practices.
