About the role
Location: Longbridge
We are seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to join a large, well‑established SEND department that supports pupils with a wide range of complex needs.
About the Role
- Provide structured one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with MSI, ASD, PMLD, PD, and SLD, ensuring learning is accessible, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
- Adapt teaching materials, sensory equipment, and communication tools (PECS, switches, visual timetables) to meet individual learning profiles.
- Support pupils with mobility routines, sensory regulation, and communication development throughout the school day, including transitions and unstructured times.
- Assist with personal‑care routines sensitively, promoting dignity, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to deliver IEP‑aligned interventions and contribute to multi‑agency reviews.
- Help maintain a safe, structured classroom environment, supporting behaviour plans, safeguarding procedures, and risk assessments.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting SEND pupils in school or care settings.
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to complex needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Qualifications such as CACHE, NVQ, or TA Level 2/3 are valued.
- A genuine desire to grow professionally as a teaching assistant
