Teaching Assistant

Location: Longbridge

We are seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to join a large, well‑established SEND department that supports pupils with a wide range of complex needs.

About the Role

• Provide structured one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with MSI, ASD, PMLD, PD, and SLD, ensuring learning is accessible, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
• Adapt teaching materials, sensory equipment, and communication tools (PECS, switches, visual timetables) to meet individual learning profiles.
• Support pupils with mobility routines, sensory regulation, and communication development throughout the school day, including transitions and unstructured times.
• Assist with personal‑care routines sensitively, promoting dignity, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to deliver IEP‑aligned interventions and contribute to multi‑agency reviews.
• Help maintain a safe, structured classroom environment, supporting behaviour plans, safeguarding procedures, and risk assessments.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting SEND pupils in school or care settings.
• A calm, patient, and proactive approach to complex needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Qualifications such as CACHE, NVQ, or TA Level 2/3 are valued.
• A genuine desire to grow professionally as a teaching assistant

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.
