Safeguarding Social Worker

All about the Role 

The Safeguarding Social Worker role sits within the Adult Safeguarding Team and is responsible for supporting Peterborough City Council's statutory safeguarding duties under the Care Act 2014. The post holder undertakes safeguarding triage, information gathering, risk assessment, decision making regarding safeguarding concerns, completing s42 enquiries and works in partnership with health, police, housing and other agencies to protect adults at risk of abuse or neglect. The role requires a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England and experience of working within Adult Safeguarding, the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005

All about our Team

The Adult Safeguarding Team is based at Sand Martin House and provides safeguarding support to adults aged 18 and over, including older adults and people with physical disabilities and learning disabilities. The team works collaboratively with multi-agency partners to investigate safeguarding concerns, undertake Section 42 enquiries where appropriate, manage risk and support positive outcomes for adults. The team consists of a Team Manager, Senior Social Worker, Social Workers and a Safeguarding Co-ordinator, and is committed to delivering timely, proportionate and person-centred safeguarding responses.

All about You

You will be a qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration and experience of working within Adult Social Care. You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding adults, the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005. You will be confident in gathering information, assessing risk, making defensible decisions and working in partnership with a range of professionals. You will be organised, resilient and committed to achieving positive outcomes for adults whilst promoting independence, wellbeing and Making Safeguarding Personal principles
