Work Location: County Hall, Glenfield, Leicestershire, LE3 8RA
Salary: Grade 9 - 11 - £32,070 - £42,699 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) plus £3,300 market premia payment for Level 3 Social Workers (Pay Award Pending)
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role
Delivering excellent outcomes for people with Care Act eligibility, using the department’s operating model and ways of working to deliver excellence in social care.
We are a warm, close‑knit team with a strong passion for promoting independence and delivering excellent outcomes for people with Learning Disabilities & Autism in Charnwood. Our team is currently looking to recruit 1 permanent Social Worker. This role is available on full‑time permanent contract.
Our team is made up of dedicated, enthusiastic professionals who work collaboratively, value each other’s strengths, and maintain a culture of openness and support. We are made up of 4 Social Workers, a Community Reablement Support Worker, a Community Support Worker and a Team Manager.
You will work alongside practitioners who bring a wealth of experience, creativity, and genuine passion for improving the lives of the people we work with and their Carers. Due to the nature of the work, we welcome applicants who can demonstrate strong professional judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team-centred way of working.
Our office base is in County Hall and Loughborough Library. Additional offices are available across the county if you prefer a workspace closer to your visits.

About You
To apply for this post, you must:
- Be a qualified Social Worker and registered with Social Work England.
- Have knowledge of social work methodologies, social care policies such as person-centred approaches and asset based social work, and relevant legislation including The Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
- Have experience of effective assessment and risk management delivery, safeguarding experience, extensive court work experience and multi-agency/multidisciplinary working and/or hospital discharge processes is essential.
- Have experience of working with complex case work and able to prioritise their work with conflicting demands and complex risks.
- Have experience of working directly with people with Learning Disability and Autism.
- Have experience of partnership working with adults to identify and meet need with creative and pragmatic solutions.
- Be a confident communicator who is skilled in diplomacy, persuasion, assertive and conflict management and able to build effective working relationships and be able to work proactively individually but also as a team member and have good prioritisation and time management skills and have a valid UK driving licence or access to a vehicle
