Mayflower Community Academy, part of the Learning Academies Trust, is seeking an inspiring and committed Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and ambitious team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a forward-thinking school where children are at the heart of everything we do.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support outstanding learning experiences, helping pupils to achieve their full potential both academically and socially. You will play a key role in promoting inclusion, supporting children's wellbeing and creating a positive learning environment where every child can thrive.
About the Role
You will:
- Support teaching and learning activities across the school.
- Work with individual pupils, small groups and whole classes.
- Assist children with additional needs, including SEND.
- Help create an engaging, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' social and emotional development.
- Assist with classroom preparation, displays and administrative tasks.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least one year's experience working within a primary school environment.
- Holds an NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
- Has experience supporting children with a range of needs, including SEND.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is enthusiastic, flexible and committed to improving outcomes for children.
