Finance Analyst

The successful candidate will act as a finance business partner for a range of projects across a diverse business landscape, with a particular emphasis on costing, financial evaluation, and benefit tracking.

They will have demonstrable experience operating as a finance or cost analyst and, alongside BAU reporting, will play a key role in helping the business understand the full financial impact of strategic change initiatives – from initial appraisal through to ongoing project performance. This includes developing costing models, assessing cost-benefit outcomes, and delivering accurate reporting and commentary to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Provide financial support and insight across major business projects, working closely with Finance Business Partners, analysts, and wider teams.
• Develop and improve costing models and project appraisal tools to ensure accurate tracking of budgets and benefits.
• Contribute to management reporting packs, KPI tracking, and longer-term planning cycles.
• Deliver variance analysis, cost reviews, and commentary to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Partner with stakeholders at all levels to ensure financial data is clearly understood and informs effective project delivery.
• Support ad hoc projects such as regulatory changes, cost-benefit reviews, or investment evaluation.
• Strengthen financial processes, controls, and documentation related to project finance.
• Proven experience in a finance, project, or cost analyst role, ideally within a commercial or project-driven environment.
• Strong Excel skills, with the ability to build and maintain costing models and carry out complex data analysis.
• Part-qualified or fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) preferred or qualified by experience in a similar analytical role.
• Commercially astute with the confidence to engage, challenge, and influence stakeholders across the business.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a logical, proactive mindset.
• Comfortable working across multiple projects, prioritising tasks, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in a finance, project, or cost analyst role, ideally within a commercial or project-driven environment.

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Hybrid, 2 office days per week | £35,000 – £45,000 + benefits
