About the role

NRL is looking for a Fitter to provide a high quality, comprehensive, accurate and timely assembly of FA, motor pump sets and manifold assemblies, to support the achievement of business objectives and the provision of superior service. This will be a 3 month contract initially with potential for extension depending on workload.  Main Objectives and Tasks
To build and maintain a good working knowledge of FA automation assemblies including TS2, VF, LT and EDC assemblies and their assembly methods, company products and services, customers and working practices, to perform the role efficiently and effectively with a keen eye on the finer details.To contribute to the overall department objectives and plan by:Sharing information with others to enable them to fulfil their role inclusive of assisting with apprentice development as and when required.Using knowledge, information and skills in planning and working for the department.Sharing ideas and suggestions for improvements via the team Continuous Improvement Process.To provide a comprehensive, proactive and effective assembly of Factory Automation assemblies by: Agreeing relevant individual/personal objectives, targets and success criteria for assigned activities and own area of work such as, but not limited to:
Assembly / Build / Test
Reading drawings and part lists and identifying correct toolings, components and materials required in order to assemble and test the assemblies efficiently whilst reducing waste within the process.Reading and interpret engineering and electrical circuit drawings ensuring assembly meets customer specifications and safety requirements.Reading and understanding the requirements as defined any associated Inspection and Test Plan and ensuring all relevant documentation is completed in a timely manner including ECR’s.Take responsibility for the any documents issued to you in the manufacturing area and ensure their quality, updates and modifications in accordance with the relevant document control measures in place.Providing constructive feedback to the design team on performance of drawings and design, recommending modifications where appropriate (see above).Completing all necessary paperwork (SAP, rectification sheets, stores requisitions, inspection records, job completion sheets) accurately and on timeAssembling of aluminium (MGE) to correct tolerances and quality standards enabling connection of parts to drawing and specification.Carrying out day to day housekeeping within area of work, ensuring a safe and clean working environment based on 5s principles.Checking current stock levels and informing team leaders of any shortages or requirements.Communicating regularly with other members of the department, ensuring continuous interaction and contribution to effective team working via use of BPS visualisation technique
Site Installation Operations
Maintain general site skills and all necessary safety, handling and equipment qualifications in line with current industry requirements.Ensure good customer communication skills, ensuring the correct information is given and documented before leaving site.Production of all necessary site HSE paperwork including Risk Assessments. Methods statements, working from height etc.Maintain and manage a site log of activities and requirements.Be able to lead a site team of engineers to complete installation including the effective delegation and checking of work.
