We’re currently recruiting for a Primary Pupil Success Mentor to work within welcoming and supportive Primary Schools, starting in September.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for graduates looking to gain valuable school-based experience before progressing into teaching, educational psychology, SEND support, speech and language therapy, social work or other child-focused professions.

As a Primary Pupil Success Mentor, you’ll support children academically, socially and emotionally, helping them overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and develop the skills needed to achieve success both inside and outside of the classroom.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 on a one-to-one, small group and whole-class basis.

  • Deliver targeted interventions in Reading, Writing and Maths to help raise attainment.

  • Support children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.

  • Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive attitudes towards learning.

  • Encourage engagement, participation and independence within the classroom.

  • Support pupils with social, emotional and communication development.

  • Work alongside teachers to provide tailored support for individual pupils.

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

  • Prepare classroom resources and support learning activities.

  • Promote a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.

Ideal Background

We welcome applications from graduates who have completed one of the following degrees within the last five years:

  • Childhood Studies

  • Early Years Childhood Studies

  • Psychology

  • Criminology

  • BA Education

  • Primary Education

  • MA Education

  • MA Education (SEND and Inclusion)

  • PGCE

  • Other Education, Child Development or Social Science-related degrees

Requirements

  • Degree obtained within the last five years.

  • Professional employment references covering the last two years.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A proactive, enthusiastic and adaptable approach.

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
