CNC Machinist

Morson are proud to be working in partnership with Safran to recruit experienced CNC Machinists to support the GDS programme at their Wolverhampton site.Safran is a global aerospace, defence, and space leader, employing 100,000 people worldwide. The Role
You will be responsible for machining components within a high-precision manufacturing environment, supporting advanced aerospace projects.
Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and adjust 5-axis turning and milling machinesMonitor production quality and machine performanceWork with Manufacturing Engineers on new part introductionFollow process layouts, work instructions, and compliance standardsSupport TPM and maintenance activitiesEnsure material flow, tooling availability, and SWIP monitoringContribute to continuous improvement and lean initiativesAdhere to all EHS and safety procedures

Essential Skills & Experience

Minimum 3 years CNC setting & operating experienceExperience in a precision engineering/manufacturing environmentKnowledge of 5-axis machines and inspection equipment Level 3 Qualifciation i.e. City & Guilds or NVQ (please enquire as variations of Level 3 qualifications exist)Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team

Apprentice-trained backgroundExperience with new technology or cell introductionsProactive, problem-solving mindset

Shift Pattern
Week 1 – Earlies:
Monday–Thursday: 6:00am – 1:30pmFriday: 6:00am – 1:00pm
Week 2 – Lates:
Monday–Thursday: 1:15pm – 9:00pmFriday: 1:00pm – 7:00pm
37 HOURS PLUSPay rates:£26.87 per hour plus £3.91 holiday pay (can opt to accrue holiday pay to ensure payment for 25 days plus 8 days bank holiday / £35.71 per hour Umbrella - please enquire
