About the role
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum, plus paid mileage, paid holiday and excellent opportunities for career progression.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (No weekend working).

The Role
As a Senior Carer, you’ll work closely with the management team to help maintain the highest standards of care across the service. You’ll support both clients and care staff, ensuring care is delivered safely, effectively and in line with each person’s individual needs.
This is a varied role combining field-based support, quality assurance, staff mentoring and client assessments, making every day different and rewarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out spot checks and quality assurance visits with care staff.
- Complete pre-care assessments for new clients.
- Conduct care reviews and update care plans.
- Prepare and review risk assessments.
- Support the management team with the day-to-day running of the service.
- Complete care visits when required.
- Mentor and support care staff in delivering outstanding person-centred care.
- Conduct staff supervisions and appraisals.
- Liaise with GPs, District Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and family members.
- Maintain accurate electronic records using Microsoft Word and basic Excel.
- Participate in the management on-call rota to provide occasional out-of-hours support.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality care while supporting and developing others.
You will have:
- Previous experience working within domiciliary care.
- Experience as a Senior Carer is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
- A caring, compassionate and professional approach.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care, or a willingness to work towards achieving it.
- A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle.
