A new, high quality children's residential care service in Sheffield is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a 3 bed home for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). This is an exciting opportunity to shape a nurturing, stable environment where children and young people feel safe, valued and supported to achieve positive outcomes.

Role Overview

As the Registered Manager, you will provide strong, child?centred leadership and ensure the home delivers outstanding residential care in line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and Ofsted expectations. You will champion the welfare, safety and progress of children and young people, promoting trauma?informed practice and a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead, motivate and develop a dedicated staff team to deliver exceptional residential care.

  • Ensure full compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding legislation and the home's Statement of Purpose.

  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring robust reporting, recording and risk management.

  • Oversee personalised care planning that supports education, health, identity, emotional wellbeing and independence.

  • Maintain inspection readiness through strong quality assurance, Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 processes.

  • Build positive relationships with families, local authorities, schools and partner agencies.

  • Manage budgets, resources and the home environment to ensure safe, homely, childcentred care.

Essential Criteria


  • Minimum 2 years' recent experience in children's residential care, including at least 1 year supervising staff.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or commitment to complete).

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, risk management and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and staff development skills.

  • A child centred, traumainformed approach with resilience, integrity and sound professional judgement.
