Job Title: Supply Chain Platform Manager

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base
Contract: 12-Month Contract (Inside IR35)
Rates: £37.61 ph Umbrella* | £28.00 ph PAYE

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Supply Chain Platform Manager to join a major naval programme, supporting complex ship repair and maintenance activities valued between £1m and £10m per annum.

You'll take ownership of supply chain delivery across the programme, ensuring materials and services are available when needed to support maintenance, capability upgrades and operational requirements. Working closely with Project, Engineering, Commercial, Operations and Royal Navy stakeholders, you'll play a key role in delivering programme objectives safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead all supply chain activities across complex ship repair and maintenance programmes
  • Develop and manage material supply plans and supply chain strategies
  • Ensure materials and services are delivered to meet programme schedules and quality requirements
  • Support bid activities, project reviews and programme governance requirements
  • Manage supply chain performance, budgets, risks and reporting activities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project-related procurement and contract management issues
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve operational and commercial challenges
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, maintaining appropriate risk registers
  • Establish and monitor programme supply chain KPIs
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Drive effective stakeholder communication and employee engagement across the programme
  • Support supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

What You'll Need to Succeed

Essential

  • Strong supply chain management experience within complex programme environments
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain best practice, supplier relationship management and procurement
  • Experience leading supply chain activities across cross-functional programmes
  • Major programme or project procurement management experience
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience managing budgets, risks and performance within large-scale programmes
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles

Desirable

  • Experience supporting UK MoD customers and supply chains
  • Naval, maritime or defence sector experience
  • Understanding of MOD and Royal Navy supply chain processes and procedures
  • Experience working within large matrix organisations
