Maintenance Engineer

Wincanton, Somerset Zest Position: Maintenance Engineer Salary: £46,000 + Annual Bonus Shift: Monday-Friday (Double Days) Hours: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 - Early Friday finish (13:00/20:00) Location: Somerset (Commutable from Yeovil, Wincanton, Shepton Mallet, Gillingham, Shaftesbury and surrounding areas) Are you an experienced Engineer looking for a role where your expertise will make a real difference? This is an excellent opportunity to work with modern production equipment and a wide range of machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll play a key role in maintaining site performance, driving improvements, and ensuring the highest standards of reliability and efficiency Responsibilities include: * Mechanical maintenance of motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics etc. * Electrical work on motors, sensors, valves, control gear, servos, instrumentation, power distribution and safety systems * Fault-finding, root cause analysis and delivering effective fixes * Selecting the right parts and coordinating with stores to maintain stock levels * Suggesting improvements to boost uptime, safety and quality across the plant * Providing technical support to operators and assisting with commissioning new equipment * Maintaining control and weighing equipment What We're Looking For * Recognised engineering apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Engineering * Confident using CMMS systems * Background in the food sector (desired) * Experience with automated machinery * Strong diagnostic skills and effective corrective maintenance * Ability to read electrical & mechanical drawings Why You'll Love This Role * A stable Monday-Friday shift pattern with no nights * A dynamic environment where no two days are the same * Opportunities to shape improvements and influence engineering decisions * Work within a team that values safety, innovation and continuous learning To find out more, please click 'Apply' or contact George for a confidential discussion (phone number removed) / (url removed) As you know over here at Zest we like to do things properly and always want to keep you, the candidate in the loop.
