Role: Accounts Assistant
Location: Prestwick (Office Based)
Salary: £30,000 per annum

Our client, a well-established and growing construction company based in Ayrshire, is looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to develop their career within a successful business.

The RoleAs an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all aspects of the accounts function.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing high volumes of purchase ledger invoices.
  
  
• Maintaining and reconciling the sales ledger.
  
  
• Assisting with general ledger postings and reconciliations.
  
  
• Processing daily banking transactions and bank reconciliations.
  
  
• Supporting month-end finance procedures.
  
  
• Liaising with suppliers and customers to resolve account queries.
  
  
• Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
  
  
• Assisting the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting duties as required.
  
  

About YouTo be considered for this position, you should have:

• A minimum of 2 years' purchase ledger experience.
  
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  
  
• Experience using Sage accounting packages or similar accounting software.
  
  
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
  
  
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
  
  
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  
  

Desirable Experience

• Experience using ERP systems, particularly within purchase ledger and sales ledger functions.
  
  
• Experience of job costing within a construction or similar environment.
