About the role
CJS is recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run fire safety specialist based in Tunbridge Wells. Following continued growth, they're looking to bring in an additional Fire Alarm Engineer to support their existing engineering team and help manage an increasing workload across the South East. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants more than just another engineering role. The business is looking for an ambitious, career-minded individual with aspirations to grow alongside the company. For the right person, there is genuine long-term potential to progress into leadership and even explore future investment or ownership opportunities within the business. If you're looking for a company where your knowledge, ideas and commitment will be recognised, this could be the perfect next step. The Role: As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out the installation, servicing, maintenance and fault-finding of fire alarm systems and AOV (Automatic Opening Vent) systems across both commercial and domestic properties. The majority of work is centred around Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas, although projects are undertaken across the South East. Work is carefully scheduled to minimise travel wherever possible, with engineers typically working within localised areas each day. Key Responsibilities: • Service, maintain and fault-find on fire alarm systems. • Install and commission fire alarm and AOV systems. • Diagnose and rectify system faults efficiently. • Complete all relevant documentation accurately. • Deliver a high standard of customer service on every visit. • Work across a variety of commercial and residential sites. • Ensure all work complies with current fire safety standards and regulations. What We're Looking For: • Previous experience working on fire alarm systems. • Experience with AOV systems is advantageous. • Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills. • ECS Card preferred. • Level 3 qualification within the fire and security industry is desirable, although practical knowledge and experience are valued just as highly. • Full UK Driving Licence. • A motivated, career-focused attitude with a genuine desire to develop professionally. Salary & Benefits: • £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience. • Long-term career progression opportunities. • Potential future investment/ownership pathway for the right individual. • Localised workload planning to reduce unnecessary travel. • Join a supportive, family-run business with an excellent reputation.
