Morson are recruiting Pipe welders on behalf of our prestigious defence client, for a 12-month initial contract, on site in Barrow-In-Furness (Cumbria). We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and particularly from sections of the community who are currently underrepresented within our industrySalary:Local contractors:3 on 4 off PAYE: £24.12 (excluding holiday pay per hour) UMBRELLA: £32.21Overtime: £30.15 - £50.98Travelling contractors:3 on 4 off PAYE: £32.12 (excluding holiday pay per hour) UMBRELLA: £43.07Overtime: 30.15 - £51.25Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Pipe Welder to carry out a range of steel welding and fabrication tasks across the full build lifecycle. You will be time-served (Modern Apprenticeship) with a solid understanding of welding processes, materials, and industry standards. You’ll work safely, accurately, and to tight tolerances using a variety of tools and equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out welding and fabrication activities to required standards and specificationsOperate tools and machinery safely in line with SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) proceduresDeliver work to schedule with a strong focus on quality and safetyInspect and check your own work against defined standardsContribute to continuous improvement initiativesWork collaboratively with team members and stakeholdersMaintain accurate records and follow company processesSkills & ExperienceTime-served welder (Modern Apprenticeship or equivalent)Experience with a range of welding techniques (e.g. TIG, MIG/MAG)Ability to read and follow welding procedures and technical drawingsExperience working with different materials and in varied environments (e.g. confined spaces)Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detailSafetyYou are responsible for your own safety and that of others, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures, and reporting any hazards or incidents.QualificationsRelevant engineering apprenticeship (essential)Safety certifications (e.g. SHE, COSHH awareness, working at height) preferredIf interested, send me your C and apprenticeship qualificaitons, [email removed]
