Ocean Operator Job

Location: Felixstowe, Suffolk
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum

Noble Recruiting are working with a well-established freight forwarding business in Felixstowe to recruit an experienced Ocean Export Operator.

The Role

As Ocean Export Operator, you will manage export shipments from start to finish, ensuring efficient routing, accurate documentation and strong client communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage ocean export shipments end-to-end
• Arrange bookings with carriers and hauliers
• Route planning for overseas transport
• Negotiate rates while protecting margin
• Update shipment milestones accurately
• Raise quotations promptly and competitively
• Invoice in line with agreed credit terms
• Process purchase invoices and associated costs
• Maintain compliance with customs regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience within ocean export freight forwarding
• Strong industry knowledge and commercial awareness
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Confident client communication skills
• Up-to-date knowledge of customs and compliance
• UK Resident with right to work in the UK
• Driver with own transport desirable
