Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Essex
Salary: £65,000
Are you an Operations Manager based in Essex looking for your next opportunity? As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of field and project operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest standard across a range of commercial, industrial, and residential clients. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fire and security solutions to its customers.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of engineers and supervisors, ensuring effective scheduling, performance management, and workforce development.
* Oversee the planning and delivery of installation, maintenance, and service contracts, ensuring all work is completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
* Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong relationships to support contract retention and growth.
* Monitor operational KPIs and produce regular reports for senior management, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
* Ensure all operations comply with relevant industry standards, health and safety legislation, and company policies.
* Collaborate with the sales and estimating teams to support business development and the tendering of new contracts.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in an operations or senior management role within the fire and security or a related building services sector.
* Proven track record of managing multi-discipline field engineering teams across multiple sites or contracts.
* Strong understanding of fire and security systems, including intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control.
* Experience with job management or field service software for scheduling, reporting, and resource planning.
* Full UK driving licence.
* FIA Level 4 Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable).
