BridgeLink Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a highly reputable and well-established children’s residential care provider to recruit a Deputy Manager for a brand-new EBD Children’s Home in the Newbury area.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful organisation with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, therapeutic care to children and young people. As part of a growing provider, you will play a key role in helping establish a positive, nurturing and safe home from the very beginning.

We are also keen to hear from experienced Senior Residential Support Workers or Team Leaders who are ready to take the next step into a Deputy Manager position.

The Role

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring children receive exceptional care while maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Registered Manager with the overall operation of the home.

Lead, supervise and motivate the residential care team to deliver outstanding care.

Promote positive outcomes for children and young people through person-centred care planning.

Ensure safeguarding procedures and risk management practices are followed at all times.

Assist with staff recruitment, induction, supervision and ongoing development.

Monitor care plans, behaviour support strategies and children’s progress.

Help maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.

Build positive relationships with social workers, families, education providers and external professionals.

Take responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager’s absence.

Promote a positive, supportive and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive.

Requirements

Experience working within a children’s residential home, ideally supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Team Leader or Senior Residential Support Worker.

Good knowledge of safeguarding, children’s legislation and Ofsted requirements.

Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare as a minimum.

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards / willing to undertake) is highly desirable.

Full UK driving licence preferred.
