Senior Supportability Engineer - Obsolescence

Location: Remote with adhoc visits to Bristol when required

Duration: 12 month contract

Rate: £55ph LTD (Outside IR35)

Role details:
Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Senior Supportability Engineer with expertise in obsolescence management to join their team on a contract basis. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to Bristol as required, and spans a 12-month duration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating in accordance with the ACC Project Obsolescence Management Plan
• Reviewing and updating the Obsolescence Management Plan (OMP) as needed
• Investigating change query issues directed by the Project Obsolescence Manager
• Prioritising high-priority obsolescence queries and ensuring timely submissions
• Evaluating and mitigating obsolescence risks aligned with IEC 62402:2019
• Compiling solution documents with comprehensive evidence for Support Capabilities and Consumables (SCC)
• Maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure minimal rejection of solution documents

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in obsolescence management within the defence and security sector
• Understanding of ACC Project Obsolescence Management Plans
• Proficiency in handling change query investigations and prioritising issues based on urgency
• Knowledge of relevant standards, specifically IEC 62402:2019
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate and mitigate risks
• Excellent documentation skills for creating comprehensive solution documents
