Intermediate MEP CAD / BIM Technician

JustEng is partnering with an award-winning, sustainability-led building services (MEP) consultancy in Caterham, Surrey — an independent practice established for over two decades, delivering M&E design, zero-carbon consultancy and building performance work across the built environment — to appoint an Intermediate MEP CAD / BIM Technician.

This is a hands-on drawing office role with a clear route forward: you will report to the CAD/Revit Manager, take ownership of drawing packages on live projects, and deepen your Revit MEP and BIM coordination skills in a BIM Level 2 (ISO 19650) environment.

The role

• Produce 2D AutoCAD and 3D Revit MEP building services drawings — plans, sections, schematics and coordinated models
• Draught and model HVAC, electrical layouts and schematics, and water services using the Autodesk AEC suite
• Run clash detection in Navisworks and support coordination against architectural and structural models
• Maintain consistent drawing quality to CAD/Revit standards and QA procedures, working to BIM Level 2 / ISO 19650 principles
• File and issue drawings accurately and to agreed deadlines, managing several projects at once
• Help develop the CAD/Revit library — templates, families and standard details
• Liaise with clients, contractors and manufacturers as designs develop

About you

• Solid MEP / building services drawing experience gained in a consultancy or design & build contractor environment — typically 3–5 years
• Strong AutoCAD production skills (circa 4+ years) with working Revit MEP experience (circa 2–3 years) you want to build on
• Comfortable with BIM Level 2 ways of working (BS 1192 / PAS 1192-2 heritage, now ISO 19650); Navisworks clash detection experience welcome
• Organised and reliable on deadlines across multiple concurrent projects
• A confident communicator with good presentation skills — happy dealing with clients, contractors and manufacturers
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; able to work independently and as part of a team
• Legally eligible to work in the UK

Software

AutoCAD and Revit MEP day to day, with Navisworks for clash detection and the wider Autodesk AEC suite, plus the Microsoft Office toolset.
