Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a successful and globally recognised organisation, for an experienced Operations Manager to join their leadership team based in Mallusk.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and commercially minded Operations Manager to play a key role in the day-to-day management of a busy and fast-paced operation. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee multiple departments, lead a team of managers and supervisors, and ensure the business continues to operate efficiently while delivering exceptional service.
The successful candidate will be an experienced people manager with a proven track record of leading teams, improving operational performance, and managing employee relations in a dynamic environment.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of several departments, ensuring they work effectively together to achieve business objectives.
You will directly manage approximately seven department managers and team leaders, with overall responsibility for a wider operational team of around 20 employees. This is a varied, hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for supporting your teams, resolving operational challenges, and driving continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations across multiple departments, ensuring high standards of performance and efficiency.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of approximately seven direct reports.
- Oversee and support a wider operational workforce of around 20 employees.
- Manage employee relations matters, including absence management, performance management, disciplinary procedures, investigations, and general staffing issues.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives.
- Monitor operational performance against KPIs and implement improvements where required.
- Work closely with senior management to deliver business objectives and operational strategy.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and overall operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture.
Criteria
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager or Senior Operations leadership role.
- Experience managing multiple operational departments within a busy environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience managing managers and larger teams.
- A solid background in employee relations, including absence management, performance management, and handling staffing matters.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- A proactive, hands-on management style with the confidence to make informed decisions.
- Commercial awareness and a passion for driving operational excellence.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
