About the role

Operations Administrator
3 month temp role
Monday- Friday 08:30-17:00
SK Postcode- Free Parking Onsite.
£13.30-£14.40 Dependant on experience.

We are looking for a confident, organised and customer-focused temporary team member to support the Operations Team within a busy transport company based in Cheadle, Stockport. The role is suited to someone who communicates well over the phone, can quickly learn internal computer systems, and is comfortable dealing with both drivers and customers in a fast-moving environment.

Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will help keep day-to-day transport operations moving by supporting communication between customers, drivers and the internal operations team. They will help manage customer expectations, update internal systems, and support the team with operational coordination and service updates throughout the working day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handling inbound and outbound telephone calls with customers, drivers and internal colleagues.
  • Using internal computer systems to input, update and monitor transport jobs and service information.
  • Liaising with drivers regarding collections, deliveries, route updates and job progress.
  • Providing customers with clear and timely updates on delivery status and any operational changes.
  • Managing customer expectations professionally, especially where timings or service requirements change.
  • Supporting the Operations Team in resolving day-to-day transport challenges.
  • Negotiating practical solutions with customers and drivers where required.
  • Escalating issues appropriately when additional support or management input is needed.
  • Maintaining accurate notes and records within company systems.
  • Providing general administration and operational support as required.
