About the role
Zest are seeking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic and adaptable PPA Class Teacher to join our welcoming primary school in Erdington from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a flexible practitioner who enjoys variety and is committed to delivering high-quality teaching across the primary phase. The successful candidate will provide cover for Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time, working across a range of year groups to ensure continuity and consistency in pupils’ learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2
- Follow pre-planned lessons and adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
- Implement the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies consistently
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support staff
- Provide feedback on pupil progress where appropriate

- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Is confident teaching across the primary age range (applications from ECTs are welcome)
- Is adaptable, organised and able to quickly establish positive relationships
- Has high expectations of pupil behaviour, engagement and achievement
- Is a committed team player with strong communication skills
- Is passionate about inclusion and supporting all learners

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
