About the role
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will be more than just a staff member; you will be a stable, positive role model for children and young people who may have experienced trauma or challenging life circumstances.
Your goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and "homely" environment where young people feel supported to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Providing daily emotional and practical support to children and young people.
Assisting with daily routines, including meal preparation, school runs, and attending appointments.
Encouraging participation in social activities, hobbies, and educational goals.
Maintaining accurate daily logs and contributing to care plans.
Promoting independence and teaching essential life skills.
Ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection at all times.
What We Are Looking For
Resilience & Empathy: The ability to remain calm in challenging situations and provide a trauma-informed approach to care.
Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for reporting and building relationships with the young people.
Reliability: A commitment to being a consistent presence in the lives of the children we support.
Requirements: You must be able to pass an enhanced background check (PVG). A full UK driving license is highly desirable but not always essential.
Qualifications: Previous experience in residential childcare is essential. An NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People is an advantage, but we also welcome applicants with the right values and a willingness to learn.
Why Join Us?
Competitive Pay: £15.35 / £16.20 per hour, paid weekly PAYE (includes holiday pay).
Flexibility: We offer both full-time and part-time contracts to suit your lifestyle.
Meaningful Work: The opportunity to make a genuine, long-term difference in a young person's life.
Supportive Environment: Access to ongoing training and a team that values your wellbeing.
How to Apply If you are passionate about supporting young people and want a rewarding career, please send your CV or call [phone removed] for an informal chat.
