Residential Childcare Worker

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will be more than just a staff member; you will be a stable, positive role model for children and young people who may have experienced trauma or challenging life circumstances.

Your goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and "homely" environment where young people feel supported to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing daily emotional and practical support to children and young people.

• Assisting with daily routines, including meal preparation, school runs, and attending appointments.

• Encouraging participation in social activities, hobbies, and educational goals.

• Maintaining accurate daily logs and contributing to care plans.

• Promoting independence and teaching essential life skills.

• Ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection at all times.

What We Are Looking For

• Resilience & Empathy: The ability to remain calm in challenging situations and provide a trauma-informed approach to care.

• Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for reporting and building relationships with the young people.

• Reliability: A commitment to being a consistent presence in the lives of the children we support.

• Requirements: You must be able to pass an enhanced background check (PVG). A full UK driving license is highly desirable but not always essential.

• Qualifications: Previous experience in residential childcare is essential. An NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People is an advantage, but we also welcome applicants with the right values and a willingness to learn.
