Role

The Role - Design Coordinator

As a Design Coordinator, you will join an established and successful Design Management team. You will support the design process, promote integration of disciplines and select, manage and appoint consultants to ensure that they perform in line with their deed and agreed scope of services.

You will be responsible as the Design Coordinator for monitoring design programmes and supporting the Senior Design team with the delivery of various construction projects in Nottingham and across the Midlands.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the design process, ensuring all work meets client requirements
Attend Design Team meetings
Coordinate between key stakeholders such as, contractors, consultants and construction teams
Review designs, drawings, and specifications for compliance with UK technical, safety, and environmental standards
Ensure adherence to Midlands building codes, CDM regulations, fire safety regulations, accessibility requirements, and environmental standards
Coordinate with planning authorities and secure permits and approvals for design changes
Monitor design programmes to ensure timely project delivery
Identify problems with the design development and manage design risks, ensuring strict health & safety compliance
Person

The Ideal Person

We are seeking a Design Coordinator with experience in the UK construction industry, preferably within a main contracting environment. The ideal candidate will be:

Degree-qualified in Architecture, Design Management, or a construction-related discipline
Experienced in working with a construction main contractor on similar-sized projects
Confident in coordinating between consultants, contractors, and site teams
Proficient in CAD, Microsoft Office, and other construction technology tools
A team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills
